More soldier beetles, and more grass seeds. I have read that the reason soldier beetles are often seen mating is that it takes them a long time.

Insect activity has been much reduced this year, but there were plenty of soldier beetles. I lked the way, even though they are tiny, they have enough weight to bend the grass seeds out.
