The upcoming RSMA Annual Exhibition brings together works from members of the Royal Society of Marine Artists, and non members selected through submission, capturing everything from roaring storms to peaceful harbours.

Susan Noble, Huntcliff Wave I, £340

Susan Noble, based in the North East of England, is a linocut printmaker whose work draws heavily on the natural world, in particular the windswept coastline. Working from her home studio in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, she produces limited edition prints in relatively small runs, capturing her surroundings.

Julie Dunster, Cooking up the Catch, £600

Julie Dunster is passionate about painting from life, on location, and in all weathers. Using studies made en plein air, Julie hopes to capture the essence of a moment in the landscape, an emotion in a portrait, a narrative in a still life.

David Grinaway, Portsmouth Harbour at Dusk, £600

David Grinaway's work captures Porchester Castle, painted from Port Solent in Portsmouth Harbour, observing the coastline. At £600, it offers an accessible and affordable way to own a seascape that combines local charm with the timeless appeal of marine art, particularly for those with connection to the area.

Miae Kim, Guardians of the Ocean, £950

Miae Kim's practice ties together marine inspiration with cultural heritage. Her work is deeply inspired by the graceful forms of whales, and explores the fusion of Korean and Western aesthetics. She creates pieces that reflect both natural beauty and cultural storytelling.

Duncan Palmar, Silver Light, Polzeath, £2,750

Duncan Palmar RSMA focuses on architectural landscapes, seascapes, harbours, and beach scenes. Palmar aims to captures light, texture, and atmosphere in every piece, having been initially inspired by family holidays in Devon and Cornwall. 

Marita Ferro, Fading Luminescent Corals, £4,430

Marita Setas Ferro is a Portuguese artist working across sculpture, fashion, and craft. Focused on fine craft, she develops unique projects that merge artistic vision with skilled craftsmanship, always aiming to engage and surprise. 

RSMA Member Masterpieces

Geoff Hunt PPRSMA, Farewell to England: HMS Victory leaving St. Helen's at dawn, 15 September 1805, £17,500

Geoff Hunt is a master of marine art, creating historical and contemporary scenes of oil on linen, with works ranging from intimate pieces to monumental canvases. Renowned for his meticulous research, Hunt balances large studio commissions with plein-air watercolours. 

The combination of historical accuracy, scale, and maritime scenes make for a striking addition for collectors with an interest in naval history, seascapes, or fine oils.

Jamie Medlin, Buoyed, £12,500

A proud Cornishman, Jamie Medlin is known for his photo-realistic style and dedication to capturing the views and seascapes of his home county. Focussing on marine and yachting scenes, his paintings have previously been auctioned at Christie’s.
