Born in 1953, Bower graduated with degrees in Biology and Psychology but pursued an artistic career upon returning to her birth-place of Yorkshire. Now exploring her lifelong love for painting, she creates pieces which explore various facets of the human condition. 

'I have always drawn and painted and had my first exhibition in watercolour in 1987. I painted in watercolour before moving onto oils and from a traditional style to a more naive style of painting in which I found myself. I now live and work in Yorkshire with my husband and we have four grown up children.'
