168 - Portrait of Anisia and Betsie

Anisia is a fellow artist and a longtime friend. I have wanted to paint her portrait for quite some time, but it was a pleasant surprise to include her dog, Betsie, in the portrait. Initially, I had not planned to paint her with her pet, but during the painting session, Betsie casually sat in front of Anisia and began staring out of the window, seamlessly blending into the scene. It was then that I realized I should create a double portrait, with the composition focused on unifying black shapes and silhouettes, creating a connection between the dog and the person.
